JEN’S STORY
It Started with My Own Health Issues
Having overcome many personal health issues including fractured vertebrae with severe back pain, insomnia and post-partum anxiety, Jen deeply believes in the power of acupuncture, Chinese herbs, excellent nutrition, balanced exercise and lifestyle. These are necessary to first balance, then improve and finally transform your health and well-being.
Working as a Naturalist introduced me to the healing power of Plants
Jen began studying herbal medicine by correspondence while working as a Naturalist for Parks Canada in Banff and Yoho National Parks. She was intrigued but wanted to know more so she applied to and enrolled and completed 1st year studies at the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine (CCNM) in Toronto, Ontario. Smitten by the power of acupuncture and chinese herbs Jen transferred schools and then completed another 4 years of study at the prestigious Academy of Oriental Sciences (ACOS) in Nelson, BC. Jen graduated with honours and was awarded the Citizenship Award for outstanding community volunteer work. Jen has a deep passion for alternative medicine and continues to study with the most skilled and knowledgeable practitioners of Chinese Medicine. Now, she dedicates her practice to treating issues specifically related to fertility, body pain, women’s health, sleep, pediatrics, body pain and mental-emotional health.
WHAT SPARKS JEN’S SPIRIT
Jen is mindful about spending much time outside hiking, running, biking, swimming, cross country or downhill skiing. She fuels her spirit by reaching mountainsides & tops by foot and gliding over snowy white trails on skiis in winter.
She has a passion for local, organic foods and thrives on growing kale, carrots, chard, tomatoes and more in her backyard garden. She makes her own gluten-free granola & strawberry jam and loves to bake a peach pie at least once every summer.
Jen loves knitting hats & socks, weeding her kale, chard and carrots in her garden, lying on her deck in the sun reading books, tent camping, laughing & crying about life with dear, honest friends.
Family
Jen mostly homeschools her amazing & brilliant 14 year old son Finn and shares this task with her giving and creative artist husband of 24 years Eddy. From these two, I have learned deep love.
